Item Information: Sailor Moon's Tiara (Anime)
Every outfit of every form of Sailor Moon, except for Eternal, includes a tiara. It is the first weapon Sailor Moon uses in the series, and is the only weapon she uses that is part of her costume. It is unique out of the Sailor Soldiers' tiaras because it is only one of two that is used offensively (Jupiter's is the other one to be used this way). The tiara is used as a weapon most often in the first series, but is used other times, such as in the Sailor Moon SuperS movie.
Her red-jeweled, gold tiara is seen in both the Prism and Crystal forms of Sailor Moon. It is a plain golden band, identical to all the other Sailor Soldier’s tiaras except for its special abilities and the color of the stone. Prism Sailor Moon’s tiara can be used to perform two manuevers, Moon Tiara Action, her primary attack in the first series, as well as Moon Tiara Stardust, a healing ability used only once in episode 4. The Tiara is also the only weapon that has the ability to fuse itself with other Sailor Soldiers' attacks. It is also combined with Sabao Spray, Fire Soul, and Supreme Thunder, though not neccessarily all at once, multiple times throughout the first season.
In the beginning of R, while still in her Prism form, the tiara stops working because Usagi loses the will to fight, due to her desire to be a normal girl. Its position as her main weapon is replaced by the Cutie Moon Rod at this time. In Sailor Moon S, when Sailor Moon upgrades to Cosmic form, the jewel on her tiara changes to a golden crescent moon and stays that way through her Crisis and "double" Crisis Super forms. As previously mentioned, she does not wear a tiara as Eternal Sailor Moon, though she throws a pizza pie in episode 184 Futarikiri no yoru! Usagi no pinch (The Couple's Night! Usagi's Pinch) while shouting, "Moon Tiara Action" to stun a Phage.
