Codename: Sailor V // Story
Codename: Sailor V is the story of a 13 year-old girl named Minako Aino who leads an average life. One day she is approached by a mysterious white cat, and everything changes. The cat, named Artemis, has the ability to talk and tells her that she has the ability to transform into a woman stronger and more beautiful than anyone. He further explains that she is responsible for protecting Earth, in the name of her guardian planet Venus. He gives her a crescent-shaped compact and an ordinary looking pen, and she is granted the ability to transform into Sailor V.
Sailor V is given the task of combating the Dark Agency, a group of villains intent on taking over the earth, who are led by Danburite. They send out popular idols to enslave the public, and Minako must defeat them. The Dark Agency is found out to actually be a division of the Dark Kingdom, which appears in the other Sailor Moon continuities, and their leader reports to the Shitennou.
Later, the police force begin to take notice of Sailor V’s work as the Soldier of Justice, and she become the object of envy and admiration of many officers. And the public starts to give her some attention as well, until a TV series hosted by Kaitou Ace steals her spotlight. Kaitou Ace began his series after the Dark Agency's Rainbow Choco plot and wishes to help the girls of Tokyo lose the weight. He later appears as a masked hero to aid Sailor V in battle, and she develops a romantic interest in him.
In the end, Minako is forced to chose between her duty as a soldier and romance. She fully realizes the importance of her mission and discovers her true duty as Sailor Venus.
