Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R The Movie was first released on DVD in Japan on March 21st, 2002 as part of the limited edition Sailor Moon DVD-BOX The MOVIE. The movie was later released individually on December 19th, 2004. It is remastered from a new print. This movie is paired with the Make Up! Sailor Guardians special that showed in theatres with the movie. A text-free version of the opening sequence is included as a special feature. The interview with Kunihiko Ikuhara that appeared on the LaserDisc version of this movie was not included.
The DVD is 77 minutes in length, including the 60 minute run time of the film itself and 17 minutes for the Make Up! Sailor Guardians special.
