Manga & Codename: Sailor V Information
Manga Books: Kodansha USA
The Kodansha USA books are English translations of the reprint volumes originally released in Japan between September of 2003 and 2004. They were originally announced in March of 2011. These translations omit some pages from the original Japanese release, such as the bonus comics found at the end of the books. This is the first time the Sailor Moon manga has been translated into English without being an adaptation, like the Mixx/Tokyopop version. These books also contain several stories never before released in English, including the prequel, Codename: Sailor V. Volumes 1 through 6 and volumes 7 through 12 were later collected into their own boxes.
Manga Books: Mixx/TokyoPop/Chix Comix
The Sailor Moon manga was originally released in English by Mixx Publications, who later changed their name to Tokyopop. The books were released between June of 1998 and September of 2001. The first six chapters appeared in Mixx's magazine, Mixxzine, the following chapters were printed in the magazine Smile. The manga was then released into collections, which were printed under various monikers, from Mixx Pocket Books, to Tokyopop to Chix Comix. This version is not a direct translation, rather it is an adaptation, and it borrows some names and terms from the DiC dub of the anime.
